Discrimination and mental health. Equality Act 2010
This factsheet explains The Equality Act 2010. It covers how it applies, different examples of its application and different types of discrimination. In addition it covers what questions employers can ask and what action to take if you think you have experienced discrimination.
Support for employees
This section of the website covers support for employees. It discusses what to do if you think you're experiencing discrimination, your rights, reasonable adjustments and disclosing your mental ill health with your employer. Links to other useful resources for employees experiencing mental health are provided.
Mental Health First Aid England
Mental Health First Aid is a course that educates individuals how to recognise, understand and support those who may be developing a mental health problem. The course was first established in Australia in 2000 and is now recognised in 23 countries. In England 1,200 instructors have delivered the courses to more than 100,000 people.
Please note, Mental Health First Aid is not a free course.

Small Things
Time to Change have a Small Things campaign which encourages individuals to share with others the small things they’ve done to support someone or the small things someone has done for them. These three video blogs are examples of small things friends and family have done for individuals suffering with mental health problems.

Discrimination

It explains who can be discriminated against, the different types of discrimination, in addition to the three elements of a discrimination tribunal claim: financial loss, injury to feelings and personal injury compensation. It also highlights that there is no minimum period of employment before you can make a claim in the employment tribunal for discrimination.
